Cosmic Camp Bestival Headliners

That’s right – sorry not sorry it’s another HUGELY EXCITED post about Camp Bestival. If your soul has died and you hate having fun, think camping is torment and your favourite colour is drab like your memories – may I introduce you to some life changing news….

Camp Bestival have announced the headline acts!!! And they are BRILLIANT!! Blasting the crowd off into space headlining the Friday and Saturday nights are:

Fatboy Slim and Jess Glynne!!

*dies of extreme excitement and overuse of exclamation marks*

In what I think is the best soundbite of the year so far, Fatboy Slim says:

“As a veteran of Sunday Best, Bestival and Common People it seems a hideous oversight that I appear to be a Camp Bestival virgin, especially as a father of two. Consequently myself, Zoe and our two little smashers will be embedded for a weekend of family frolics and nocturnal adventures, be assured we will make up for lost time!”

I really am excited to see Jess Glynne too – she’s one of only two female solo singers to rack up five number one singles, and in just over a year has already become one of the UK’s most successful singers ever. A frequent collaborator of former Camp headliners, Clean Bandit,  her song ‘Dont be so hard on yourself’ is up there as one of my favourite tracks from this year, so much so that I’ve taught/forced it upon my children, if only to get them to stop singing the bloody alphabet song. Badly.

There’s a whole load of other brilliant acts and stuff for the children to do like the brilliant Aliens Love Underpants live show (direct from the West End; hold on to your space-pants, camping pants, festival pants, music pants etc.), Dick and Dom, and everyone’s favourite cosmic clown Mr Tumble.

Searching the possibilities of infinite space throughout the weekend, there will also be cosmic joy with Flying Astronauts, Planetarium Shows, Cosmology Workshops, Stargazing, Space Orchestras, Rocket Building, Space Smells, Post A Space Card, Giant Rockets, (GIANT ROCKETS!!), Build Your Own Planet, Make Space Murals and lots more. With plenty of edifying action from the National Space Centre, The Science Museum, Royal Observatory Greenwich, Okido, Explorer Domes and many more.

Watch this space for news on the Sunday headline acts coming soon….
